PDFTEXT converts PDF files to plain text. It is capable of performing simple text manipulation, such as stripping stop words, grammatical structure analysis and extracting any URLs found in the document. PDFTEXT can be used to convert the content of PDF file to an application the only understands plain text, like Endnote.
The service is completely free of charge and contains no advertissement. Some PDF files are handled better than others. Documents with multi-column layout, tables and complex structure may lose their formatting. Images are extracted using pdfimages, also from the XPDF package.
Using PDFTEXT is simple. From the homepage, select a file using the BROWSE button and then upload it by clicking UPLOAD. The converted text will appear.
